LUCY WORSLEY
Dr Lucy Worsley OBE is passionate about making history engaging to the widest possible audience. She is co-chief curator at historic royal palaces.
Lucy’s most recent TV series Killing Sherlock was broadcast on BBC2 in December 2023 and saw her explore the extraordinary love-hate relationship between Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and his most famous creation. Lucy’s previous BBC series accompanied her biography of Agatha Christie and Lucy is currently on tour with her stage show about the author.
Lucy has presented a number of other series for television including the BAFTA award winning Suffragettes with Lucy Worsley (BBC1), British History’s Biggest Fibs with Lucy Worsley (BBC2), Six Wives with Lucy Worsley (BBC 1) and Lucy Worsley Investigates (BBC 2). All have been broadcast in the U.S. on PBS. In 2023 she also hosted the quiz series Puzzling for Channel 5.
Lucy has written a number of well-received books including Queen Victoria: Daughter, Wife, Mother; Widow, Jane Austen at Home; Cavalier: A Tale of Passion, Chivalry and Great Houses; Courtiers: A Secret History of Kensington Palace and If Walls Could Talk: An Intimate History of Your Home which accompanied the TV Series (BBC 4). She has written two novels for children My Name is Victoria and Eliza Rose. Her most recent book, Agatha Christie-An Elusive Woman has won many awards.
Lucy Worsley’s podcast Lady Killers (BBC Sounds) is currently in its third season of investigating the crimes of Victorian women from a feminist perspective. It was named one of the BBC’s most downloaded podcasts of 2022 and is available in the U.S. on BBC Select in video format.
