Join 2020 CHRISTY AWARDS WINNER! KRISTY CAMBRON for 8 days in PARIS—Enjoy the beauty and history of the City of Lights as never before!  Imagine stepping into the pages of The Paris Dressmaker (Coming Feb. 2021), to explore Paris through the sites in the novel. We'll experience the characters’ stories firsthand with visits to the Chanel Salon, the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower and the bookshops of Paris, and even the Palace of Versailles. And not to forget attending a Paris fashion show and a pâtisserie visit to sample some of the best pastries in the city!

ITINERARY AND EXCURSIONS

Day 1 - August 4 - Travel

Arrive in Paris and transfer to our hotel.  ​We will gather for our "Welcome Meeting" in the evening.

Day 2 - August 5
​Paris City Tour

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.  Following breakfast, our guide will take us on a fabulous tour of Paris to see the sites, including the Arc de Triomphe, Champs-Elysées, Trocadero, and more.  We will stop for some great shots of the Eiffel Tower.  Our tour will continue with a lunch cruise on the Seine.  Following lunch, we will continue our tour to Monmartre to see the beautiful Basilica of Sacré-Coeur and many other well-known landmarks.  Next we will cross town to see the breathtaking stained glass in Sainte-Chappelle and we will witness the rebuilding of the Notre Dame Cathedral.  Our day will finish with a ride back to the hotel.

Day 3- August 6
​Louvre, Opera, and Fashion!

We will take a short walk to the Louvre, including viewing selected works from Kristy’s novels: the Winged Nike of Samothrace from The Butterfly and the Violin, and Vermeer’s The Astronomer from The Paris Dressmaker.  Next, we will travel to Palais Garnier (Paris Opera House).  Lunch will be at a local crêperie. Following lunch, we will head to the amazing Galéries Lafayette for a special treat: A Paris fashion show! When finished, you can return to the hotel or have free time in the city.

Day 4 - August 7
​Versailles Palace and Gardens

Today we will spend a wonderful day at Versailles!  We will visit the incredible Chateau that served as the palace for the Bourbon royalty, the beautiful Gardens, the Trianons palaces and Marie Antoinette's Hamlet.  Readings from Versailles scenes in Kristy’s novels include: The Paris Dressmaker, and the 1920s-Era novel of Harry Houdini’s vaudeville, The Illusionist’s Apprentice.  At the end of the day, we will return to our hotel.

Day 5 - August 8
Musée d'Orsay,
Jardin des Tuileries,
and Jeu de Paume 

This morning we will board our coach to take us to the Musée d'Orsay to see the famous paintings housed inside. Next we will take a short walk to the Jardin des Tuileries on the other side of the river and enjoy a tour.  Following our visit, you will have free time to continue to explore this large formal garden and have lunch on your own.
After lunch, we hope to visit the Jeu de Paume and will experience readings form The Paris Dressmaker.
NOTE: Jeu de Paume is closed "until Spring" for construction work. It may not reopen in time for our visit.  If it is closed, you can take advantage of the many tourist shops along the Rue de Rivoli.  When our visit or shopping is completed, you will make your way back to the hotel.

Day 6 - August 9
Catacombs,
​Liberation of Paris Museum,
​& Shoah Memorial

This morning we will visit the Catacombs.  Next, we will take a short walk to tour the Liberation of Paris Museum.  After a short break for lunch, we will travel to the Shoah Memorial. ​  On our way back to the hotel, we will make a stop at the original Chanel store in Paris on Rue Cambon. Experience readings from The Paris Dressmaker along the journey on this day!

Day 7 - August 10
​Latin Quarter

 Following breakfast, we board our coach for the Latin Quarter. We will visit the famous Rue du Bac where you may sample some of the best pastries in Paris!  In addition, we will visit the famous Shakespeare & Co. as well as other unique and interesting bookshops.  When finished, we will have free time to pack and pick up any last minute items.  This evening, we will have our farewell dinner and bid "au revoir" to our new friends and the spectacular city of Paris!

Day 8 - August 11
​Leave for home

We will transfer to the airport for our return trip home taking with us memories of our wonderful adventure!
